At Bearfield Church we think children are amazing. They are full of ideas, questions, energy and creativity and we want to help them flourish and thrive. Furthermore we believe God loves children and so we do all we can to help them understand who God is and what their place in his plans is.
Bearfield Church is blessed with a good number of children and young people and as such on Sunday morning we make provision for them. We also have a range of other groups and services for children and young people outside the Sunday morning service. If you require specific information, in the first instance, please contact the church secretary via the contact page who can direct you to the project leader. Please find information our provision for children and young people below.
For all pre-school children, crèche provides a safe and friendly environment for children and a parent / guardian. Parents are welcome to either leave their child with the crèche leader or stay.
Creche leaders do try to tailor the session for the different ages and can offer older crèche children some specific bible and craft activities.
For all key stage 1 Children, Bearcubs provides a lively and interactive session using Scripture Union Sunday School material to teach stories from the Bible and help children understand the Christian faith.
JAM (Jesus and Me)
For all key stage 2 children. JAM builds on the teaching from Bearcubs using Bible-teaching material from the Good Book Company. It offers a mix of games, bible reading and discussion to help this group understand and grow in the Christian faith.
The Kitchen Group
For all key stage 3 children. The Kitchen Group provides a discussion space on a Sunday morning for 11-14 year olds to question and find out more and help them grow as young Christians.
